Discover an unforgettable mountain biking adventure located next to the breathtaking Rincón de la Vieja National Park. This tour takes you on singletrack trails through three unique routes designed for all skill levels—beginner, intermediate, and advanced.

With over 30 kilometers of shaded forest trails, we offer the only mountain biking experience in Costa Rica that runs alongside an active volcano. Thanks to the higher elevation, the climate here is cooler and more comfortable than the coastal areas, making for a refreshing ride.

Your journey begins at the hotel and leads into a singletrack path that winds through lush forest along the river.

Starting at 500 meters above sea level, you’ll enjoy cool shade throughout the ride and may encounter incredible wildlife like howler monkeys, white-faced capuchins, coatis, armadillos, and even peacocks.
 

One of the highlights of the ride is a stop at the stunning Oropéndola Waterfall, where you can take a refreshing swim in a natural pool. From there, continue pedaling through the tropical forest bordering the national park, crossing scenic bridges and rivers before returning to our meeting point.
 

Top-quality mountain bikes are provided, with options for both front suspension and full-suspension setups to suit your riding preference.

• Beginner: 12.5 km ride | 5.5 km uphill, 7 km downhill | Duration: 1.5 to 2.5 hours

• Intermediate: 16 km ride | 5.5 km uphill, 10.5 km mixed terrain | Duration: 2 to 3 hours

• Advanced: 30 km ride | First segment: 5.5 km uphill, 7 km mixed descent; Second segment: 17.5 km variable forest trail near the national park with rolling hills | Includes a swim at a nearby waterfall | Duration: 3 to 4 hours
